In giving private drum lessons, I intend to help each of my students accomplish the very many goals accompanied with becoming a great drummer. I intend to help each student identify their own goals and approach each one independently.
Often times, people confuse drumming to be one of the easiest instruments to pick up and go. I never really understood that. Unlike the guitar or keyboard, drumming requires full-body functions working together in concert and independently. So it's important to remember not to get discouraged or frustrated.
In the end, drumming is fun. After the day is done and the concentrated practice is over, it's always fun to just relax and go nuts on the drum set. Sometimes you'll even discover skills you never knew you could do before. My hopes are that each student learns to love drumming and maybe someday teach drum lessons in Las Vegas too.

Playing drums is often considered to be “loud”, “obtrusive” and generally “unsettling”. When I first started playing drums at the age of 11, these were the words that best described the sound I offered to Rancho Bernardo. However, if it were not for my family, I probably would have stopped too soon. The support they provided gave me the push to continue with my hobby. As time progressed, the “noise” my neighborhood came to understand turned into music. Playing drums was no longer my hobby, it was, and still is, my art and my life.
Over the course of 8 years I have performed with several bands in Las Vegas which have helped me round out into a more complete musician. It has also expanded my musical influences spanning from Jazz-Fusion to Heavy Metal. With my live experience ranging from coffee shops to large Las Vegas venues, i've learned what it takes to perform in front of people. One of the skills I wish to pass on to others through my private drum lessons is how to be confident in their ability and beat problems like stage fright.
